Infrastructure Services during G20 Meeting in Toronto

Thursday, June 24, 2010

This year, the G-20 Summit will be hosted in Toronto, Canada from June 24 to June 27. The G-20 Toronto Summit will be held in Downtown Toronto, which is also the location of one of Palomino's Data Centers.

Every effort is being made by the city to ensure that security measures have the least possible impact to city while balancing the need to keep some of the worlds most powerful people safe and secure.

As a result of the heightened security around our data center location during the days leading up to and during the Summit itself, some of our services may be affected as follows:

  • No hardware upgrades for dedicated servers
  • Potential delays in emergency server hardware troubleshooting and replacement
  • Potential delays in resolution of networking hardware related issues
  • Potential delays in hard reboots of dedicated servers

Our support staff will still have full access to the data center unless there is a severe situation, such as a riot. Our office are  not affected by the security measurements and our support hotline will continue to be operational.

We expect that there will be minimal, if any, impact to Palomino clients during the G-20 Toronto Summit, but wanted to ensure that our clients were fully aware of the situation.

Best Regards,

Your Palomino Team
