A new R&D project hits the news - Scientific Knowledge ManagementWednesday, January 21, 2009 A new R&D project at Dalhousie University has hit the news with it's plans to build a knowledge management platform for Ocean Scientists - with some help from Palomino. "Ocean research has been thrust into fast-forward with the Platform for Ocean Knowledge Management (POKM). The network enables scientists to piece together research from institutions across the globe to better understand issues from coastal flooding to marine animal behaviour.", says the Germany-based Innovations Report. Palomino is happy to be part of this exciting project as a solution provider of the Document and Content Management Portal for the POKM system, funded by the Network-Enabled Platform program of CANARIE Canada. Palomino will work closely with both Computer Science researchers and Oceanographers to help build this complex platform. As part of our ongoing relationship with Dalhousie, Palomino will also contribute the WebPal system as part of the overall solution. The computer science research team for the POKM project consists of Dr. Abidi, professors Evangelos Milios and Nur Zincir-Heywood and undergraduates through to post-doctoral students from the Faculty of Computer Science and departments of Biology and Oceanography.
